Canoe Rentals - 2007 Prices
Prices quoted per calendar day; Discounts for rentals over 5 days duration. All canoe rentals include paddles, PFDs, throw rope, bailer, and whistle. All canoes are equipped with built-in knee pads.
White water outfitting (floatation bags and thigh straps) available for 16' Royalex ABS canoes. Add $5 per canoe per calendar day.
GST and PST are applicable to all canoe rentals.

16' AND 17' ROYALEX NOVA CRAFT PROSPECTOR RIVER TRIPPING CANOE 1 - 4 days: 16' or 17' model - $30.00 5+ days: 16' or 17' model - $25.00 Classic design has proven that it is one of the best for river tripping purposes. It has a good volume for week long trips and maintains optimum waterlines when loaded up with lots of gear. Fairly sharp entry so it is speedy in flatwater but can be a wet canoe in big waves.

14' EVERGREEN SUNBURST SOLO RIVER TRIPPING CANOE 1 - 4 days: $25.00 5+ days: $20.00 This Sunburst is a fantastic solo river tripping canoe. There is enough room to store ample gear ahead and behind the paddler. This canoe is quite dry in large waves and is very responsive in whitewater situations. Excellent canoe design facilitates an easy back ferry to catch a good line.

Shuttle Services:
We offer shuttles in our comfortable 7-passenger van that can carry up to 6 canoes with our trailer, OR we can perform the shuttle in your vehicle. Our rendezvous point is at our base camp on Simmons Lake near Dowling, located only 8 km off Highway 144, about 45 minutes drive from Sudbury.
Spanish River Whether it's catching VIA Rail's 'Budd Car' to put-in locations along the Spanish, shuttling to Duke Lake or pick-up at the Elbow or Agnew Lake...we service the entire length of the Spanish River. There are many routes that can be suggested for the Spanish River, depending on your intinerary and paddling experience, so if you have any questions please call us for route plan consultation.

We offer shuttles in our comfortable 7-passenger van that can carry up to 6 canoes with our trailer, OR we can perform the shuttle in your vehicle. Having traveled the Spanish River dozens of times, we know the river very well and therefore can provide expert advice while planning your canoe trip! Shuttle prices are applicable to GST.

Mississagi River The Mississagi River is famously known as Grey Owl's favourite canoe route. Like the Spanish River, It flows from the upper reaches of the Great Lakes watershed south-westerly into Lake Huron at Iron Bridge. The most popular access point is Spanish Chutes, south of the small town of Ramsey and the most common take-out is at Aubrey Falls, on Rocky Island Lake, off Hwy 129. There is also the option of taking the VIA Rail Budd Car train to Biscotasing and paddling from Lake Biscotasi to Ramsey Lake and into the Mississagi River system.
We provide shuttling services to Spanish Chutes and Aubrey Falls.

Camping/Accommodation/Parking
Our convenient base camp location on the shore of Simmons Lake provides our clients with a unique experience for pre and post canoe trip accommodations. You have the option to pitch your own tent or sleep in our comfortable bunk style eco-tents (canvas wall tents on platforms). Facilities include outdoor privies, sauna, campfire and a large canvas wall tent for group gatherings and meals.
We also offer our guests short and long term parking facilities for the duration of your trip.
Prices:
Eco-tent: $15 per person if purchasing outfitting services in a group OR $25 per person if sincgle client or accommodation only
Camping: $20 per tent
Parking: $5.00 per day or FREE with canoe rental
Note: As we are not a public campground, overnight camping and parking is limited to Sundog clients utilizing guiding, rentals and shuttle services only.

Fully Outfitted Self-Guided Package
As part of this package, Sundog provides free trip consultation including route planning. We will work with you to plan a menu to suit your dietary needs. Once you arrive at our base camp, we will spend the necessary time it takes for you to become familiar with each item in the outfitting package to ensure that your Northern Ontario wilderness experience is one you will cherish for years to come.

Guiding Services
Having an experienced and certified guide along with you on your trip is peace of mind, especially if you are exploring new country or paddling white water conditions. Sundog Outffiters provides professional guides for many Sudbury area canoe routes. If you have all the gear and are providing your own meals, but would like to have a guide along on your trip, we can help.
GUIDING SERVICE PRICES: $110 per day for flatwater trips $125 per day for whitewater trips
